Meet my doggos
I learnt everything I know with the help of these behaviourally challenged kiddos.
-
Edith - AKA: Peedith, Little Edie, The Monster.
Edith is a true Southern belle, hailing from Dallas Animal Services, and brought to the Big Apple by Hearts and Bones. When she first arrived, she was a nervous lady—she didn’t know how to pee on asphalt and much preferred our rugs, and when anxiety hit, shredding things was her go-to. Don’t even get me started on her ability to try and fling herself at any oncoming small vehicle on tiny wheels. But with patience and consistency, she blossomed into a confident lady and became my partner dog while I studied with the Karen Pryor Academy. She’s by far the smartest dog I’ve ever worked with (sorry, Franklin!) and has an insatiable love for learning. If I even pick up the clicker, she comes running to me. She never ceases to amaze me, and honestly, at this point, I’d trust her to represent me in court!

Franklin - AKA: Frankels, Baby man, Big boi Franklin.
Ball is life for Franklin. Also hailing from Texas, he made his way to Brooklyn as a puppy through Hearts and Bones Rescue. He has been my teacher in so many ways—showing me the importance of enrichment, teaching me how to manage impulses, and even offering lessons in resource guarding (shout out to every tennis ball we have ever encountered in Fort Greene Park!). When he's not striking a pose for the camera, you’ll find him pouting, seeking out pets, invading your personal space, pouting some more or curled up under a blanket (he’s big, but still watch where you sit!).
Franklin and his big sister Edith are the best of friends and are known to friends and neighbours as “The Twins”.
-
Patty - AKA: Scatty Patty, Chicken Nugget ??? - 2025.
Patty came to us from Sean Casey via Korea through Korea K9 Rescue , and when she first arrived, she was the most scared dog in the shelter. It took several visits to gently coax her out of her kennel, but eventually, we were able to adopt her and give her a safe, loving home in her twilight years. Patty taught me so much about patience and the importance of advocating for her needs. She found comfort in having her own space (sometimes in a different room altogether). She loved the peacefulness of the countryside, and couldn’t resist scrambled eggs. She had a short time with her baby brother Franklin and helped teach him to be a polite pup, in return Franklin brought Patty out of her shell. She loved us all in her own weird way.
-
TBone - AKA: Tbizzle, Yung T, Little Guy 2004 - 2017.
Best boi ever, no notes.
After a rocky start, Tbone found his soulmate in my then-boyfriend (now husband), and together, they traveled the world—living in Seattle, NYC, and Berlin. They eventually settled in London, where I had the pleasure of getting to know him (and was lucky enough to come in a close second). Despite his small stature, Tbone was blissfully unaware of it, making up for it with his charisma. He loved riding the Tube incognito in his bag, charming everyone on the Overground and running around Peckham Rye looking for fox shit to roll in.
